This is our list of 20 well-known female pornstars who are Indian or of Indian origin. Most of them were not born in India. They were born in Britain, the USA or Canada to Indian families, which is normal in this industry. For every woman we checked the birth date, birthplace, years of work and body size against public film databases, and where the sources do not agree, we say so.

How we checked

We used IAFD (the Internet Adult Film Database), Wikipedia where a page exists, and fan databases such as Boobpedia, Babepedia, FreeOnes and AFDB. IAFD is edited more strictly, so its numbers are shown first. Fan databases are edited by their users, so when a detail only comes from them, we mark it "reported".

Body sizes are bust-waist-hips in inches, the way the databases list them. Sizes change over the years and sources often disagree. Ages are worked out as of 13 September 2026. The pictures are name cards made by us, not photos of the women.

Sunny Leone is the best-known name on this list, mostly because of what she did after adult films. She was born in Canada to Punjabi Sikh parents, became Penthouse Pet of the Year in 2003, signed with Vivid Entertainment in 2005, and started her own studio, SunLust Pictures, in 2009.

In 2011 she joined India's Bigg Boss season 5, and in 2012 she made her Bollywood debut in Jism 2. She left adult films in 2013 and has worked in Indian films and TV since, including Ragini MMS 2 (2014) and Raees (2017). She was added to the AVN Hall of Fame in 2018.

Priya Rai was born in New Delhi and moved to the USA when she was two, growing up near Minneapolis. She started in 2007 and soon became one of the busiest performers of Indian origin in the American industry.

She won an AVN Award in 2009 for a group scene in the film Cheerleaders, was named Best MILF at the 2011 NightMoves Awards, and was nominated at the XBIZ Awards in 2012, 2013 and 2014. She retired in June 2013, came back in 2018, and entered the Urban X Hall of Fame in 2020.

Janice Griffith was born in New York in 1995. She calls herself Indo-Caribbean: her mother is from Guyana, and film databases list her roots as Indian and mixed. With more than 450 credits since 2013, she has the biggest career of any woman on this list.

She won a 2019 XBIZ Award for a scene in After Dark, and was nominated for Best New Starlet at both the AVN and XBIZ Awards in 2015 and for Best Actress at the 2018 AVN Awards. In 2015 she also spoke in public about adult websites labelling her race wrongly.

Belle Knox became known far outside the adult industry in 2014, when students at Duke University in the US found out she was paying her college fees with adult film work. Her story also made news in India, since one of her parents is Punjabi Indian.

Her adult career was short, from 2013 to 2015. She won a 2014 Fanny Award and was nominated for Best New Starlet at the 2015 AVN Awards. A 2014 episode of Law & Order: SVU was based on her story, and the Lifetime TV film From Straight A's to XXX (2017) is about her life.

Sahara Knite is a British performer of Gujarati Indian descent and one of the longest-working women here, with more than 200 credits since 2004, mostly for British and European studios.

Many people know her face from HBO's Game of Thrones, where she played Armeca in seasons 1 and 2. She was also filmed for Channel 4's documentary series The Dark Side of Porn (2005). In 2019 she became chair of United Kingdom Adult Professionals (UKAP), and in 2023 she won the SNAP Award for Outstanding Contribution to the UK adult industry.

Anjali Kara is a British performer of Indian origin. Most of her nearly 200 performer credits are with the UK studio Killergram, where she worked from 2004 to 2011. Older lists said she was born in 1998 in Mumbai. That is wrong: the databases give 1982, and England or India.

She is one of the few women on this list who also moved behind the camera. IAFD lists more than 170 directing credits for her between 2009 and 2015, including Honey Trap (2010).

Kali Sudhra was born in Toronto, Canada, to a family with Indian and Dutch roots, and now lives in Barcelona, Spain. She works mainly in independent and feminist adult film, including many films for Erika Lust's XConfessions since 2017.

In 2021 she co-directed The Saree Shop with Erika Lust, the first South Asian-themed film in that series. She was nominated for an AVN Award in 2019, and she is also known as a sex educator and a campaigner for sex workers' rights in Spain.

Marina Maya is a London-born British performer of South Asian origin who started in 2019. She is one of the most active women on this list today, with around 60 credits so far.

Her work includes scenes for FakeHub, Brazzers, BangBros and Digital Playground, plus several European studios.

She also crossed into Indian cinema: she played "Revolver Rani" in the 2018 Tamil film Evanukku Engeyo Matcham Irukku.

Leah Jaye was born in Croydon, south London. IAFD lists her ethnicity as Indian, but Boobpedia gives different roots, so her place on an "Indian" list is not fully certain. Older lists gave her birthday as "31 February", a date that does not exist. It is 31 August.

Her credits include Red Light District, New Sensations, Elegant Angel and Kick Ass Pictures, and she also worked for the UK TV channel Babestation.

Nadia Nyce is one of the earliest women of Indian origin in American adult film. She was born in Manchester, England (not in the USA, as older lists said) and worked in the US mainly in 1995 and 1996, often in Rodney Moore's productions.

She is listed on IAFD as Nadia Nice. Do not mix her up with "Naudia Nyce", a different American performer born in 1980.

Paru Silios is one of the few women on this list who was actually born in India: IAFD and two other databases list her birthplace as Bombay (Mumbai), in 1978. She worked in Europe rather than the US, and is often credited as Peggy Sue.

Her career ran from 1996 to about 2000. She worked with the Private studio, appearing in Private magazine in 1997, with director Pierre Woodman, and in Italian films.

These three women show up on many "Indian pornstar" lists. The databases say they are not of Indian origin, so they are not in our top 20.

Nadia Ali

A Pakistani-American performer, born on 22 July 1991. IAFD lists her birthplace as Pakistan, while other sources and her interviews say she was born in the US to a Pakistani family. She worked only in 2015 and 2016, is known for performing in a hijab, and quit in 2016 after about 20 scenes. She has said she received death threats. She was nominated for an AVN Fan Award in 2016. She is not the singer Nadia Ali.

Shazia Sahari

Born on 25 October 1984 in Illinois, USA. Older lists say she was born in Pakistan, but IAFD and Boobpedia both say Illinois. Sources list her roots as Pakistani or Moroccan. She worked from 2010 to 2013.

Maya Bazin

A Nepali performer, born on 14 February 1987 in Bhaktapur, Nepal (one database says Kathmandu). She is 5 ft 3 in (160 cm) and made only five films between 2009 and 2012.

Is there a Bengali or Kolkata pornstar?

A lot of people search for a "Bengali pornstar list" or a "Kolkata pornstar name". The honest answer: none of the 20 women above is known to be Bengali or from Kolkata, and we did not find a documented adult film performer from Kolkata in the databases we used.

Many sites that show "Bengali pornstar" lists use photos of Bengali TV and web-series actresses, models, or ordinary women from social media. Those women are not pornstars. Putting their names and photos on such lists is false, and it can do them real harm, so we do not publish one.
